Long time friends, and colleagues, Michael A. Sheehan and Edward P. Flinter, founded the Lexington Security Group in 2006 in New York City.
Sheehan is a retired U.S. Army Special Forces Officer who served as a White House Aide for two presidents, as a senior diplomat at the State Department and United Nations, and Deputy Commissioner for Counter Terrorism with the New York City Police Department (NYPD). Flinter served in the United Sates Marine Corps and spent several years working for government and private sector organizations in Africa, Asia, and the Middle East. He is currently the President of Lexington Security Group, Inc.
Lexington Group initially advised private sector clients in the United States on strategies for mitigating risk. Among its diverse set of initial clients, Lexington provided risk mitigation strategies to a top Wall Street financial services company, an international real estate development company, several defense industry firms, and a major league sports league. In 2007, Lexington expanded its service offerings and initiated strategic advisory services, unit training, and individual mentoring to international law enforcement agencies, internal security forces, and national defense organizations. In 2009 we opened a branch office in Abu Dhabi to support our growing number of training and advisory programs in the region.
In October 2011, Michael Sheehan resigned from Lexington Group to serve his country as the Assistant Secretary of Defense for Special Operations and Low Intensity Conflict (ASD-SOLIC). Ted Flinter resides in Abu Dhabi and continues to lead Lexington as the company’s President
